Jewellery Repair

We wouldn't recommend trying to repair your own jewellery, unless you're professionally trained. It's safer to take any damaged jewellery in for professional repair as soon as possible, especially if stones or the links of a chain have fallen out. (The longer you wait, the more likely you are to lose small pieces like this.) Your local Goldsmiths store will be able to offer a range of repair services.

Of course, prevention is always better than cure. So try to have your jewellery cleaned professionally once a year. Ask your jeweller check for signs of wear during the cleaning, such as loose stone mountings or bent clasps. Then these can be fixed before they get serious. Also, if you have any bracelets or necklaces without safety chains or clasps, it might be worth asking one of our jewellers to add these on. It's an inexpensive way to save yourself the heartbreak of losing a cherished piece.

Our main store, Wokingham has in place a fully manned workshop to ensure your personal jewellery can be repaired while you wait. Quite often, we carry out repairs on the spot and save the customer a lot of the time and money.
